What better way to celebrate Jackie Robinson Day than to round up some friends and watch the Academy Award-winning film 42, a biographical movie about the first African American baseball player in the major leagues? That’s exactly what Elkhorn’s SADD did April 15. If you got the chance to go, not only did you get to marvel at the story behind the color-barrier-breaker’s life in the auditorium, but you also got some free popcorn, candy and other refreshments of the like. “It was a good time – the movie was a lot better than I expected!” senior SADD president Sarah Brand said.
